Ben Rothwell vs. Philipe Lins Off March 13th UFC Card, Moved Ahead

UFC’s March 13th event has lost a heavyweight bout, as a fight between Ben Rothwell and Philipe Lins has been removed from the lineup. The fight was scheduled to take place during the main card of “UFC on ESPN+ 45,” as first reported by Shakiel Mahjouri of Fightful.

The plan now is to rebook the heavyweights for a May 8th UFC event, according to a follow-up report from Nolan King of MMA Junkie.

It is not known exactly why the fight was removed from UFC’s upcoming “Fight Night” event. The fight was scheduled to take place at the UFC APEX in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA.

Both fighters were looking to return from a loss in their last showing.

Rothwell fought to scorecards against Marcin Tybura in October, although he did not prevail once consulting the judges.

Lins, a 2018 PFL Heavyweight Champion, has yet to win since joining the UFC roster. Having now competed twice in the promotion, Lins has lost fights to Andrei Arlovski and Tanner Boser.

UFC’s March 13th card now has 12 fights in total. The card is currently scheduled to be headlined by welterweights Leon Edwards and Belal Muhammad.
