Tyrell Fortune has been given a new opponent for Friday night’s Bellator 255 card, now being matched against Jack May, per a press release from the promotion on Monday.
May takes the place of Matt Mitrione, who reportedly withdrew from their fight due to undisclosed reasons earlier in the week.
The new matchup joins the main card for Bellator 255, which will take place at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut, USA.
The fight between May and Fortune is a rematch from last year. The first meeting between the heavyweights ended quickly, as an accidental shot to the groin of May stopped their bout in the second minute.
May has since bounced back, defeating former Titan FC Heavyweight Champion Said Sowma via decision back in November.
May last competed in January, where he lost to Kyle Noblitt on an XMMA card.
Bellator 255 is currently set to be headlined by Bellator Bantamweight Champion Patricio Pitbull and Emmanuel Sanchez, who will be competing in the semifinals of the promotion’s 135-pound tournament.
