Francisco Figueiredo has a new opponent for his May 8th booking, as flyweight JP Buys has stepped in for recently-retired Jimmy Flick. The new matchup was first reported by Carlos Antunes of AgFight.
The new pairing joins a card that does not have a confirmed location at the moment.
Buys is getting the opportunity after the original opponent for Figueiredo, Flick, announced his retirement last week. Flick scored his UFC debut victory last year, submitting Cody Durden within a round.
Buys will be looking to return after losing his UFC debut to Bruno Silva in March. The 24-year-old had a five-fight win streak on the regional scene prior to his UFC debut.
Similarly, Figueiredo will also be returning after making his first UFC appearance. Figueiredo last competed in January, where he defeated Jerome Rivera via unanimous decision.
