A lightweight bout between Yancy Medeiros and Damir Hadzovic has been given a new date, now being set to take place on June 26th. The booking was first reported by Farah Hannoun of MMA Junkie earlier this week.
The fight joins a card that is set to take place at the UFC APEX in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA.
Medeiros and Hadzovic were first set to fight on May 22nd, although the fight was pulled on short notice due to Hadzvoic battling a sickness.
“I started to feel very ill, I caught a virus, [and] have been up all night with fever and sore throat,” said Hadzovic via Instagram the day the fight was scheduled. He later mentioned that his illness was not COVID-19 related.
Now with the new date, both fighters have the chance to end their currently losing streaks.
Hadzovic has lost his last two fights, not being favoured on scorecards against Christos Giagos and getting submitted within a minute by Renato Moicano.
Medeiros is on an even longer three-fight skid. His last appearance was in February of 2020, where Lando Vannata scored a unanimous decision win over him.
