UFC is looking to book the promotional debut of Askar Mozharov for August 28th against Dustin Jacoby, per a report from Damon Martin and Mike Heck of MMA Fighting.
Should the fight be confirmed, it would join a “Fight Night” card that does not have a known location at the moment.
Mozharov, a veteran of 30 fights in MMA, is getting the UFC call-up after scoring three first-round stoppage wins in 2020.
The 26-year-old was first set to make his UFC debut in May against Ben Rothwell, although that plan was later scrapped due to visa issues.
The new potential booking continues what has been a busy UFC run for Jacoby thus far.
Jacoby’s last bout was in early May, where he fought to a draw against Ion Cutelaba.
UFC’s August 28th card does not have a main event set for it currently. Here are the bouts that have been reported for the show thus far.
Bout 3: Ketlen Vieira (11-2) vs. Sara McMann (12-6) (Bantamweight)
Bout 2: Gerald Meerschaert (32-14) vs. Makhmud Muradov (25-6) (Middleweight)
Bout 1: Dustin Jacoby (14-5-1) vs. Askar Mozharov (23-7) (Light Heavyweight)
