Denis Goltsov and Brandon Sayles Matched After Losing Initial Matchups For June 25th PFL Card

Heavyweights Denis Goltsov and Brandon Sayles have been matched up for PFL’s June 25th event after both of their previous matchups fell through.

The new pairing, which was announced by the promotion on Tuesday, will take place at the Ocean Casino Resort in Atlantic City, New Jersey, USA.

Mohammed Usman, the original opponent for Goltsov, reportedly withdrew from the card due to an injury.

It was previously reported that former UFC fighter Fabricio Werdum had withdrawn from his bout against Sayles. Werdum was finished in his match last month against Renan Ferreira in a controversial fight that was later overturned to a no contest.

Following the two withdrawals from the card, it was decided to pair Goltsov and Sayles up.

Goltsov scored a win in his first appearance of the year, defeating Mo DeReese within a round with strikes.

Sayles faced Usman in his PFL debut earlier this season, stopping him in the second round of a fight with a rear naked choke.

PFL said that another heavyweight bout will be added to their June 25th card at a later date. The card received another matchup on Wednesday, as Anthony Pettis and Raush Manfio were moved to the card.
