Injury Takes Louis Smolka Out of UFC 264 Bout Against Sean O’Malley

UFC’s July 10th card has lost a main card fight, as injury has forced Louis Smolka out of a fight against Sean O’Malley, as first reported by Ariel Helwani.

The fight was set to take place on UFC 264 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA.

It is not known at the moment if O’Malley will get a new opponent for the event. UFC is reportedly seeking a replacement for Smolka, although that process is ongoing.

The fight was set to see Smolka make his first appearance in 2021. He last competed in late 2020, stopping Jose Alberto Quinonez in the second round of a bout.

O’Malley scored a win earlier this year, stopping Thomas Almeida in the third round of a fight with strikes. The bout put him back into the win column after taking his first pro loss last year.

UFC 264 is now down to 12 fights in total. A trilogy fight between Dustin Poirier and Conor McGregor is currently set to headline the pay-per-view event.
