Bellator’s July 16th card is down to 11 bouts after the departure of a heavyweight bout between Marcelo Golm and Linton Vassell. News of the cancelled bout was first reported by Nolan King of MMA Junkie on Monday.
The fight was set to take place at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut, USA.
It is not known why the fight was removed from the lineup, nor is it known whether the fight will be moved to another date.
The bout was set to be one of the many heavyweight matchups to happen on the card. Bellator is still planning to have heavyweight matchups between Tyrell Fortune and Matt Mitrione along with Ronny Markes and Said Sowma on the show.
Golm, a former UFC fighter, was set to make his Bellator debut after two recent wins on the regional scene.
Vassell was looking to build off a recent two-fight winning streak.
Bellator Flyweight Champion Juliana Velasquez is set to face Denise Kielholtz in the main event of Bellator 262.
