Three fighters that competed at Bellator 262 last weekend are no longer part of the promotion’s roster, per a report from Steven Marrocco and Mike Heck of MMA Fighting.
Matt Mitrione, Ronny Markes and Adil Benjilany have reportely parted ways with Bellator since Friday.
Mitrione fought in the co-main event of Bellator 262 on July 16th. He lost to Tyrell Fortune, who submitted him in the second minute due to strikes on the ground.
Mitrione was vocal during and after the fight that a collision of heads during a takedown from Fortune had hurt him.
The fight was Mitrione’s fifth winless appearance for Bellator. He had competed for them since 2016 and departs with a promotional record of four wins, four losses and one no contest.
Markes was finished in just over a minute by Said Sowma in the featured prelim of the card. The finishing sequence saw Markes get dropped by a left hook before strikes on the ground finished him.
Markes, a former UFC and PFL fighter, leaves Bellator after two consecutive stoppage losses.
Benjilany sees a departure from the Bellator roster despite coming out of Bellator 262 with a win.
The five-fight Bellator vet snapped a two-fight skid in his appearance, returning to defeat Johnny Soto via unanimous decision.
