Invicta FC To Crown Two Champions At August 27th ‘A New Era’ Event

Invicta FC will return on August 27th with a pay-per-view event headlined by two title fights. The promotion will crown a new strawweight and bantamweight champion when presenting “A New Era” from the Memorial Hall in Kansas City, Kansas, USA.

The main event is currently set to be between Emily Ducote and Danielle Taylor for Invicta FC’s 115-pound belt. The title was vacated last year after previous champ Kanako Murata signed a UFC contract.

The fight will be Ducote’s second shot at earning an Invicta FC belt. She was in the title position in late 2019, where Murata defeated her via split decision. Ducote has since bounced back with a unanimous decision victory over Juliana Lima.

Taylor, a former UFC fighter, is returning to Invicta FC after picking up a recent win in XFC against Jessica Aguilar.

‘Phoenix Series’ Winner Tennant To Face Verzosa

Taneisha Tennant will get her first chance at the Invicta FC Bantamweight Championship when fighting Lisa Verzosa in the co-main event.

Tennant made her name in Invicta FC last year by winning the one-night “Phoenix Series” tournament. After defeating Brittney Victoria and Hope Chase in one-round fights, Tennant won the bracket with a decision against Taylor Guardado.

Tennant took her first pro loss in her most recent appearance, being defeated by Danyelle Wolf on UFC TV show “Dana White’s Contender Series” last summer.

Verzosa will be fighting in an Invicta FC championship fight for the second time. She lost her title bout last year against now UFC-fighter Julija Stoliarenko, dropping a split decision after a bloody five-round battle.

Verzosa returned to the win column with a split decision win against Raquel Canuto last year.
