Bellator’s upcoming schedule of events has seen a large number of fights added to it recently. This Bellator roundup will discuss all the recent additions to Bellator cards.
Bellator 264 Gains Six Fights
Bellator’s August 13th event has nearly doubled in size over the past week, as six bouts have come in and grown the lineup significantly. The new fights join a card that is expected to take place at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut, USA.
Ty Gwerder will attempt to bounce back from a recent loss when facing Khadzhimurat Bestaev at middleweight, per a report from Amy Kaplan of Fansided. Gwerder last fought in October, where he lost a bout to undefeated prospect Dalton Rosta. Bestaev will be making his Bellator debut after previously appearing in LFA and on TV show “Dana White’s Contender Series.”
Returning after a dominant Bellator debut earlier this year, former Titan FC Bantamweight Champion Danny Sabatello will fight Johnny Campbell. Campbell is also coming back after his Bellator debut, which saw him submit Henry Corrales with a rear naked choke.
Marcelo Golm has a new opponent for the Bellator card, now facing PFL alum Kelvin Tiller, per Guilherme Cruz of MMA Fighting. Golm was originally set to meet undefeated heavyweight Steve Mowry, although he has since withdrawn from the card.
Golm, a former UFC fighter, will be making his Bellator debut after two stoppage wins on the regional scene recently. Tiller will be entering the promotion on a three-fight losing streak from the end of his run in the PFL.
Coming back to Bellator after over two years outside of their cage, Nekruz Mirkhojaev will meet James Adcock in a featherweight fight. Mirkhojaev last fought on a Bellator card in 2019, where he lost a split decision to Marcus Surin. He has scored one win since then on the regional scene.
Adcock will be making his Bellator debut with a pro record of seven wins and four losses.
After both losing their Bellator debuts, Sebastian Ruiz and Jeffrey Glossner have been matched for August.
Glossner lost his Bellator debut to Jaylon Bates earlier this year, although he re-enters the cage after scoring a submission win on a regional card in July. Ruiz lost his Bellator debut in 2019 against Mike Kimbel.
A double pro debut will also happen on the card when Orlando Mendoza and Jon McNeil meet at a catchweight of 195-pounds.
Four Bouts Join Bellator 265
Four new matchups have joined the lineup for Bellator 265, which is scheduled to take place on August 20th at the Sanford Pentagon in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, USA.
Middleweights Fabio Aguiar and Taylor Johnson will meet on the card, per a report by Nolan King of MMA Junkie. Johnson is riding the momentum of a first-round rear naked choke submission he earned against Lance Wright in June.
Aguiar had a long win streak snapped in his Bellator debut earlier this year, losing via unanimous decision to Khalid Murtazaliev.
Mike Hamel will look to snap a two-fight losing streak when facing Bryce Logan on August 20th. Logan will also be looking to bounce back from a loss he took against Georgi Karakhanyan last year.
After two stoppage wins in LFA, Archie Colgan will get the Bellator call-up when facing Deven Fisher, who has a negative pro record of four wins and eight losses.
After a strong pro debut in LFA, heavyweight Bailey Schoenfelder will move to Bellator to face Kevin Childs. Schoenfelder needed only 20 seconds in his first pro fight, stopping James Munoz in May.
Childs also scored his first pro win earlier this year, fighting to a decision victory over Tyree Millsap.
Bellator Moscow
Bellator’s debut in Russia, which is still far down the line from now, has received its first official matchup.
Vitaly Minakov will make his return to Bellator to face fellow heavyweight Tyrell Fortune.
Minakov scored his first Bellator victory in 2019, stopping now-interim heavyweight champ Timothy Johnson in just under two minutes. His previous bout, a loss to Cheick Kongo, is his sole pro loss.
Fortune is being paired against Minakov after stringing together a strong trio of wins lately. He defeated veteran Matt Mitrione in July, finishing him within a round.
