A featherweight fight between Max Holloway and Yair Rodriguez now has a new date. The main event bout is being targeted to take place on November 13th, per Aaron Bronsteter of TSN.
Should the fight be finalized, it will join a card that does not have a confirmed location at the moment.
Holloway and Rodriguez were previously scheduled to headline a “Fight Night” card in July. That fight was later cancelled in the weeks leading up as Holloway suffered an injury and had to withdraw.
Holloway last fought earlier this year, where he showed his striking ability for five rounds to earn a unanimous decision against Calvin Kattar. The bout put him back into the win column after losing a close, two-fight rivalry against current 145-pound champion Alexander Volkanovski.
On the other hand, the new booking puts forward a new timeline for the return of Rodriguez. The 28-year-old has been out of the cage since October of 2019 when he fought to a unanimous decision win over Jeremy Stephens.
Before then, Rodriguez earned a last-minute knockout over The Korean Zombie in a five-round main event bout in 2018.
The sole other fight that has been reported for November 13th currently is a heavyweight fight between Ovince St. Preux and Philipe Lins.
