Former UFC Middleweight Champion Luke Rockhold will get his return bout against rising contender Sean Strickland at the promotion’s November 6th pay-per-view event, per a report from Brett Okamoto of ESPN.
The fight joins UFC 268, which is being targeted to take place at Madison Square Garden in New York City, New York, USA. The location has not been finalized yet.
Strickland is a tough opponent for the returning Rockhold, as he is currently on a strong run over the past year.
Strickland has fought four times since October of last year, picking up a victory in each appearance. Most notably, he made his UFC main event debut last month with a five-round unanimous decision victory over Uriah Hall.
Rockhold has been out of the cage for over two years now. The former champ last competed in July of 2019, where now-UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Jan Blachowicz stopped him in the second round of a fight.
Rockhold’s last fight at middleweight was a 2018 loss to Yoel Romero.
UFC Welterweight Champion Kamaru Usman will face Colby Covington for the second time in the main event of UFC 268. Here is how the card looks at the moment.
Bout 3: Kamaru Usman (19-1) vs. Colby Covington (16-2) (UFC Welterweight Championship)
Bout 2: Justin Gaethje (22-3) vs. Michael Chandler (22-6) (Lightweight)
Bout 1: Sean Strickland (24-3) vs. Luke Rockhold (16-5) (Middleweight)
