Julian Marquez has the chance to continue his successful stretch of recent appearances when facing Jordan Wright at UFC’s October 16th “Fight Night” event. The new middleweight fight was matchup reported by Mike Heck of MMA Fighting.
The fight joins a card that does not have a confirmed location at the moment.
Marquez has been on a dominant run since returning earlier this year. Similar to fellow middleweight Sean Strickland, Marquez has been active and winning recently after numerous years outside of the cage.
Marquez made his return in February, submitting Maki Pitolo in the third round of a fight. The bout was his first in over two years.
He returned just two months after that to submit Sam Alvey with a rear naked choke.
He now faces a dominant finisher in Wright. The 29-year-old has scored all 12 of his wins via stoppage since turning pro in 2014. He bounced back from his sole pro loss in May, stopping Jamie Pickett in just over a minute with strikes.
While the main event for UFC’s October 16th card isn’t known at the moment, numerous bouts have been reported for the lineup. Here’s what we know about the show currently.
