Edmen Shahbazyan Paired With Nassourdine Imavov For UFC 268

Edmen Shahbazyan will attempt to break a two-fight losing streak when facing Nassourdine Imavov at UFC’s November 6th pay-per-view event. News of the middleweight matchup was first reported by Farah Hannoun of MMA Junkie on Monday.

The fight joins UFC 268, which the promotion is planning to hold at Madison Square Garden in New York City, New York, USA. The location for the event has not been announced by the promotion at the moment.

Shahbazyan, a 23-year-old who was once an undefeated contender in the UFC, is currently on a two-fight skid following a pair of bouts against experienced fighters in the division.

Shahbazyan last competed in May, losing a three-round bout to Jack Hermansson. Prior to then, he was handed his first loss by divisional gatekeeper Derek Brunson, who took him out in the third round with strikes.

Before the losses, Shahbazyan had attained 11 consecutive pro wins, including four in the UFC.

Imavov is being matched with Shahbazyan in his fourth UFC appearance. He made his UFC debut in the fall and has since attained a promotional record of two wins and one loss.

Imavov’s first finish UFC win was last month, stopping Ian Heinisch in the second round with strikes.
