A large weight limit miss at the Bellator 264 weigh-ins on Thursday have caused the card to lose yet another bout.
Kendly St. Louis missed weight for his lightweight bout against Justin Montalvo by six-and-a-half pounds, forcing the bout to be scratched from the lineup. News of the weight miss was first broken by on-site MMA Junkie reporter Nolan King.
The fight was set to take place on the prelims of Bellator’s card tomorrow from the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut, USA.
St-Louis was scheduled to make his first Bellator appearance. He was entering the weekend on a two-fight skid, and had a pro record of three wins and four losses.
Montalvo, an undefeated lightweight with two wins, was also scheduled to make his first appearance in Bellator.
Friday’s card is now down to eight fights in total. The show has suffered many losses recently, including two bouts scratched earlier this week due to “health and safety protocols.”
Bellator Middleweight Champion Gegard Mousasi is scheduled to meet John Salter in the main event of Bellator 264. Both fighters made weight on Thursday, with Mousasi even being the first to hit the scales.
