Bellator 265 is down to 10 bouts (Bellator)

Bellator’s August 20th card has been limited to 10 bouts in total after two matchups were removed from the lineup. The scheduled matchups were set to take place at the Sanford Pentagon in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, USA.

The return of Baby Slice won’t happen this weekend, as his bout against Cody Lincoln has been removed from the lineup due to undisclosed reasons.

The change was first reported by Nolan King of MMA Junkie on Monday.

Slice, also known as Kevin Ferguson Jr., was returning to Bellator looking for his first win in four appearances. His promotional record in Bellator includes three wins, three losses and one no contest.

Lincoln, a two-fight LFA alum, was set to make his promotional debut.

COVID-19 protocol forced a fight between Kory Moegenburg and Jeff Nielsen off the card as well, per Nolan King of MMA Junkie.

Nielsen was scheduled to make his pro debut at the event. He was turning pro after an amateur run of six wins and one loss. The last fight in his amateur stint happened in that same building that Bellator 265 will be held at – as he defeated C.J. Hays on an LFA card earlier this year.

Moegenburg, a fighter who has a pro record of one win and two losses, was also scheduled to have his first Bellator appearance.

Heavyweights Cheick Kongo and Sergei Kharitonov are set to headline Bellator 265 on Friday.
