UFC Parts Ways With Justin Jaynes and Veteran Yancy Medeiros

Yancy Medeiros and Justin Jaynes are no longer part of the UFC roster, per a report from Damon Martin and Guilherme Cruz of MMA Fighting. Both fighters are being cut from the roster after consecutive losses in the promotion.

Medeiros, a UFC vet of eight years, is leaving the roster after 15 fights for the promotion.

Medeiros is currently on a four-fight losing streak that has been building since 2018. His last loss came in June, where he dropped a unanimous decision to Damir Hadzovic.

Medeiros had many high-profile fights in his career, including bouts against Dustin Poirier, Alex Oliveira and a main event loss to Donald Cerrone.

Similarly, Jaynes is leaving the UFC after losing four straight.

Jaynes had a fast and active UFC run, having been part of their roster for just over a year.

He joined the promotion in June of 2020 on short notice, stepping in to face Frank Camacho. Jaynes’ promotional debut was his sole win for the promotion, as he stopped Camacho in 41 seconds with strikes.

He went on to lose four bouts from August 2020 to June 2021. He infamously claimed to have bet his entire guaranteed fight purse on himself for his last fight, which was a split decision loss to Charles Rosa.
