COVID-19 Protocol Forces Manon Fiorot vs. Mayra Bueno Silva Off UFC 266, Rescheduled To October

UFC’s pay-per-view event on Saturday night will proceed without one of the expected flyweight bouts. Positive COVID-19 tests to Manon Fiorot and her team have forced her fight against Marya Bueno Silva off the card, per Globo reporter Evy Rodrigues.

The fight was first scheduled to happen on UFC 266 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA. It’s now reportedly being moved to the promotion’s October 16th event, which does not have a confirmed location at the moment.

Fiorot’s third UFC appearance will now have to wait. The former UAE Warriors Flyweight Champion has earned two wins since joining the UFC roster early this year, having defeated Victoria Leonardo and Tabatha Ricci.

Bueno Silva was looking to bounce back from a draw she took early this year against Montana De La Rosa.

A five-round fight between UFC Featherweight Champion Alexander Volkanovski and Brian Ortega is currently set to headline UFC 266. The card is now expected to proceed with 13 fights in total.
