UFC’s October 16th main event has received a change, as Aspen Ladd has stepped in to replace Holly Holm in a featherweight fight against Norma Dumont.
Holm had to withdraw from her five-round fight due to a knee injury, per a report from Ariel Helwani. She was set to headline a card that will take place at the UFC APEX in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA.
News of Ladd joining the matchup was first reported by Brett Okamoto of ESPN.
Ladd took the booking after a previous matchup fell through earlier this month. She was set to fight at bantamweight on October 2nd but was pulled from her bout after missing weight twice.
Ladd will be making her second pro appearance at featherweight. She has never fought at 145-pounds in the UFC, with her five previous bouts being at 135-pounds.
Ladd has been out of the cage since late 2019, as four different bookings have fallen through since then.
Dumont now has a new opponent for her first UFC main event bout.
Dumont scored her first featherweight UFC win in May, fighting to a split decision victory over former title challenger Felicia Spencer.
