Lightweights Renato Moicano and Alexander Hernandez are expected to meet at UFC’s February 12th pay-per-view event, per a report from Carlos Antunes of AgFight.
The fight joins UFC 271, which does not have a confirmed location at the moment.
Both notable lightweights are coming off a finish win.
Moicano scored a submission win in his last bout, stopping Jai Herbert with a rear naked choke in June. The victory put him back into the win column after losing to Rafael Fiziev late last year.
Hernandez had a quick win earlier this month, stopping short-notice UFC newcomer Mike Breeden in just over a minute due to strikes. Like Moicano, the win was a bounce back from a loss he took just months before.
The main event for UFC 271 hasn’t been confirmed yet, although UFC President Dana White has indicated that he wants a rematch between Israel Adesanya and Robert Whittaker as the main event.
Here’s the updated lineup:
Bout 3: Douglas Silva de Andrade (27-4) vs. Sergey Morozov (17-4) (Bantamweight)
Bout 2: Kyler Phillips (9-2) vs. Marcelo Rojo (16-7) (Bantamweight)
Bout 1: Alexander Hernandez (13-4) vs. Renato Moicano (15-4-1) (Lightweight)
