While a fight between Bryan Battle and Tresean Gore wasn’t able to happen in the recent season of “The Ultimate Fighter,” the middleweights are now expected to meet at UFC’s February 5th card. The new matchup was first confirmed by Farah Hannoun and Nolan King of MMA Junkie.
The pairing joins a UFC “Fight Night” card that doesn’t have a confirmed location at the moment.
Battle and Gore were first set to meet in the middleweight finals of “TUF” earlier this year. However, that fight was thrown out after Gore suffered an injury.
Battle went on to win in the finals of the bracket, second a second-round submission victory over Gilbert Urbina. His previous wins in the season came against Andre Petroski and Bellator alum Kemran Lachinov.
Gore currently has an undefeated pro record of three wins. Along with those victories were his two performances on “TUF,” which saw him stop Urbina and get a decision victory over Ryder Newman.
UFC’s February 2nd card doesn’t have a confirmed main event at the moment. Here are the few fights that have been reported for that date thus far:
Bout 3: Ian Heinisch (14-5) vs. Sam Alvey (33-16-1) (Middleweight)
Bout 2: Hakeem Dawodu (12-2-1) vs. Mike Trizano (9-1) (Featherweight)
Bout 1: Bryan Battle (6-1) vs. Tresean Gore (3-0) (Middleweight)
