UFC is looking to pair up ranked strawweights Amanda Ribas and Michelle Waterson for their March 26th event, per a report from Guilherme Cruz of MMA Fighting.
Should the bout be finalized, it would join a “Fight Night” card that doesn’t have a confirmed location at the moment.
Waterson, ranked ninth in the division, will be fighting to get back into the win column. Waterson’s last fight saw her lose up at flyweight in a five-round battle against Marina Rodriguez.
Waterson’s most recent win was a split decision victory over Angela Hill in 2020.
Ribas bounced back from her sole UFC loss in October, defeating Virna Jandiroba via unanimous decision at UFC 267. A win in March would move her up the strawweight rankings, elevating her past her current 10th place slot.
Light heavyweight fighters Jan Blachowicz and Aleksandar Rakic are currently expected to headline UFC’s March 26th show. It is currently the only other fight that has been reported for that date.
