Undefeated bantamweight Javid Basharat will make his UFC debut in the first-quarter of 2022, facing Trevin Jones at the promotion’s March 12th event. MMA Island revealed the pairing last week via Instagram.
The fight joins a UFC card that doesn’t have a confirmed location at the moment.
Basharat has scored 11 wins since turning pro in 2016. He earned a UFC contract in October, securing a third-round guillotine choke submission win against Oron Kahlon on TV show “Dana White’s Contender Series.”
Jones took his first UFC loss in August, getting submitted by former CFFC Bantamweight Champion Saidyokub Kakhramonov. He scored a finish win earlier in the year, stopping Mario Bautista at UFC 259.
Light heavyweights Thiago Santos and Magomed Ankalaev are currently set to headline UFC’s March 12th card. Here is how the show looks currently:
Bout 3: Thiago Santos (22-9) vs. Magomed Ankalaev (16-1) (Light Heavyweight)
Bout 2: Guido Cannetti (8-6) vs. Kris Moutinho (9-5) (Bantamweight)
Bout 1: Trevin Jones (13-7) vs. Javid Basharat (11-0) (Bantamweight)
