PFL Announces Welterweight Cast For February 25th ‘Challenger Series’ Episode

PFL’s second episode of the “Challenger Series” is set to include numerous welterweight prospects. The February 25th show will see 170-pound fighters attempt to score a victory and pick up a spot in the 2022 PFL Regular Season.

The “Challenger Series” show will to debut earlier in the month with an episode showcasing light heavyweights. A week later, eight welterweight names will take the stage for the second episode. The lineup was revealed recently via press release.

The welterweight week will see Jarrah Al Silawi, Mark Martin, Lucas Barbosa, Carlos Leal, Dilano Taylor, Michael Lilly, Troy Green and Socrates Pierre compete.

Al Silawi is currently a champion in Brave CF that has a three-fight winning streak. His last win came in April 2021, when he beat former UFC fighter Ismail Naurdiev.

Martin is riding a six-fight winning streak that includes three LFA appearances and a recent fight in Combate Global.

Barbosa will be making his pro-MMA debut at the event. He enters the sport with an extensive background at a high level of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu grappling.

Leal won a one-night tournament in his last outing, defeating Diego Dias and Uyran Carlos as part of LFA’s debut in Brazil last year.

Taylor is the current Titan FC Welterweight Champion and has scored six straight victories since 2019.

Lilly is another Titan FC veteran. He had a run of four wins broken in his last appearance, coincidentally by the aforementioned Taylor.

Green is coming off his first pro loss, which came against now-UFC fighter Yohan Lainesse in early 2021.

Pierre is an experienced MMA vet of over a decade. He will enter this episode on a two-fight winning streak.

The matchups for PFL’s “Challenger Series” card remain unknown at the moment.
