UFC Looking To Book Veterans Donald Cerrone and Joe Lauzon For April 30th Card

UFC is hoping to pair up two veterans for their April 30th card, matching up Donald Cerrone and Joe Lauzon for a lightweight bout. The fight is in the process of being made currently, per Nolan King of MMA Junkie.

Should the fight be finalized, it will join a UFC “Fight Night” card that doesn’t have a confirmed location at the moment.

Lauzon and Cerrone are incredibly experienced fighters, having both spent over a decade in the promotion.

Cerrone will be fighting to break an extensive skid. He has gone winless since 2019 and has taken five losses through six appearances since then.

Cerrone’s last fight was in May 2021, where Alex Morono pulled off a first-round finish win.

The fight would mark Lauzon’s return to competition. He snapped a three-fight losing streak in his most recent fight, defeating Jonathan Pearce in October 2019.

UFC’s April 30th show doesn’t have a confirmed main event at the moment. Here are the few fights that have been reported for it thus far:

Bout 3: Gina Mazany (7-5) vs. Shanna Young (7-4) (Flyweight)

Bout 2: Daniel da Silva (11-2) vs. Francisco Figueiredo (12-4-1) (Flyweight)

Bout 1: Donald Cerrone (36-16) vs. Joe Lauzon (28-15) (Lightweight)
