Kleydson Rodrigues has a new date for his UFC debut. The flyweight prospect is now expected to make his first promotional appearance against CJ Vergara at a May 7th pay-per-view card, per Guilherme Cruz of MMA Fighting.
The fight has joined UFC 274, which doesn’t have a set location at the moment.
Rodrigues secured a UFC contract last year with a standout performance on the TV show “Dana White’s Contender Series.” His victory over Santo Curatolo was the sixth consecutive win he had earned since 2016.
Rodrigues was originally scheduled to make his UFC debut on January 15th against Zarrukh Adashev. However, that fight was removed from the card before it could take place.
While Vergara isn’t making his UFC debut, he is also searching for his first win in the promotion. He lost his first appearance for the UFC back in November, dropping a unanimous decision to Ode Osbourne.
Vergara appeared on the same “Contender Series” season as Rodrigues, securing a UFC contract with a win over Bruno Korea.
