Undefeated prospect Ilia Topuria is set to move up a weight class to face Jai Herbert at UFC’s March 19th card.
The new lightweight fight was first broken by reporter Gonzalo Campos and is joining a card that is set to take place a the O2 Arena in London, England.
Topuria has attained three wins at featherweight since joining the UFC roster in 2020. This has moved his pro record to an impressive and still flawless 11 wins in total.
Topuria’s last win came in July last year, where he scored a first-round finish victory over Ryan Hall. He was set to return earlier this year at the UFC 270 pay-per-view event, although that bout didn’t end up happening.
The majority of Topuria’s career has taken place at the 145-pound limit, per database Tapology.
Herbert was originally scheduled to face Mike Davis on the upcoming March card. It isn’t known at the moment what pulled Davis from his booking.
Herbert is coming off his first UFC win, which was a first-round finish victory over Khama Worthy in October 2021. This was a necessary victory for him after losing his two previous fights for the promotion.
Herbert, a representative of England, will likely have a large amount of support from the live crowd at the event.
