Appearing at strawweight for the first time since 2019, Cynthia Calvillo has been booked to face Brianna Fortino at UFC’s June 4th show. The matchup was confirmed Monday by Alex Behunin of Cageside Press.
The location for UFC’s June 4th event is not known at the moment.
Calvillo moved up to flyweight in 2020 following a six-fight UFC career at strawweight. The move proved unsuccessful for her, as she took one win through four appearances in recent years.
Calvillo’s last fight was in November 2021, where Andrea Lee scored a stoppage win over her after the second round.
Fortino will be making her first appearance in nearly two years. Her last fight was her first UFC loss, where Tecia Torres beat her in June 2020.
UFC’s June 4th show does not have a main event at the moment. Here are the few fights that have been confirmed thus far:
Bout 3: Dan Ige (15-5) vs. Movsar Evloev (15-0) (Featherweight)
Bout 2: Poliana Botleho (8-4) vs. Karine Silva (14-4) (Flyweight)
Bout 1: Cynthia Calvillo (9-4-1) vs. Brianna Fortino (9-3) (Strawweight)
