Chase Sherman Back On UFC Roster, Takes Short-Notice April 23rd Bout Against Alexandr Romanov

Chase Sherman’s time outside the UFC roster has turned out to be brief.

The heavyweight veteran is back on the promotion’s roster, as he is stepping in on short notice on April 23rd to face undefeated prospect Alexandr Romanov, per Damon Martin of MMA Fighting.

Sherman will replace Tanner Boser, who announced his withdrawal from the fight earlier this week. The new matchup is scheduled to take place at the UFC APEX in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA.

It was reported earlier this month that Sherman departed the UFC roster after his second run with the promotion, which lasted four fights in total.

He is currently on a three-fight losing streak, including a submission defeat that he took to Jake Collier in January.

Romanov is returning for his fifth UFC appearance. He currently holds an undefeated pro record of 15 wins, with most of them coming via finish. He built on this streak in October 2021, stopping Jared Vanderaa in the second round of their bout.

This weekend’s UFC Card is now 12 fights in total and is scheduled to be headlined by strawweights Amanda Lemos and Jessica Andrade. Here is an updated look at the card:
