Jamahal Hill, Thiago Santos To Headline August 6th UFC ‘Fight Night’

After a successful showing in his first-ever headlining fight, Jamahal Hill will stay in the main event spot for his next appearance.

Hill is expected to meet fellow ranked light heavyweight Thiago Santos in the top bout of UFC’s August 6th event, per Nolan King and Mike Bohn of MMA Junkie.

The fight is the first bout to be reported for August 6th – an event that doesn’t have a set location at the moment.

Hill scored a quick win in his first UFC main event three months back, stopping Johnny Walker in the third minute with an overhand right. This was his fourth win since joining the UFC roster in early 2020.

Hill’s previous victory was in late 2021 when he stopped Jimmy Crute in just 48 seconds with strikes.

Santos will be attempting to get back into the win column in this booking. The former title challenger has struggled in recent years, earning just one win through five appearances.

This is in part due to the fact that he has only faced some of the division’s top names, including Magomed Ankalaev, Aleksandar Rakic, and current champion Glover Teixeira.

Santos has the experience edge for main events heading into this bout, as this will be his seventh time competing in a five-round UFC fight.
