Jordan Heiderman had a comeback win on this week’s episode of “The Ultimate Fighter,” battling back from a rough start against Chandler Cole to score a finish victory in the overtime round of their bout.
Heiderman’s win aired Tuesday and marked the final heavyweight bout for the quarter-finals of this season.
Cole started the fight strong and nearly scored a finish in the opening round. He notably landed a spinning back kick that connected to the head of Heiderman, causing him to fall to the canvas.
Heiderman survived past this moment and had a much safer second round. Judges saw that round for him on their scorecards, forcing a third and final frame to find a winner.
The third round started with both fighters wailing away with punches. A tired Cole shot for a takedown that Heiderman stuffed. Capitalizing on this dominant ground position, Heiderman then landed ground and pound shots to the head of Cole to force a stoppage.
Heiderman, an LFA talent, entered this season with a flawless pro record of five wins. PFL alum Cole had a more experienced record, including eight wins and three losses.
The quarter-final section of the season will conclude next week when flyweights Brogan Walker and Hannah Guy meet.
