Two title bouts along with the continuation of a Muay Thai grand prix are scheduled to take place at ONE Championship’s August 26th card, per an announcement made by the promotion Tuesday.
A rematch between ONE 170-pound champion Ok Rae Yoon and former titleholder Christian Lee is set for the main event of ONE 160, which is scheduled to take place in Singapore.
Ok pulled off an upset win against Lee last year, going five rounds against him to earn a unanimous decision victory. Lee disputed this scorecard result afterward, proclaiming that the fight should be overturned.
The result broke an extensive six-fight winning streak for Lee which dated back to 2018.
Ok will not only be attempting to defend his belt for the first time but will also be looking to keep his undefeated ONE run alive.
Ok only joined the promotion in 2021, when he beat Marat Gafurov via decision. He picked up another big win later that year, defeating former UFC champion Eddie Alvarez.
Le vs. Tang Set For Co-Main Event, Muay Thai Grand Prix Bout Announced
A previously announced title fight between Thanh Le and Tang Kai is scheduled to take place in the co-main event spot of the show.
The fight will see two unstoppable forces in the promotion collide. Tang was given this title fight after a long run of victories in ONE, securing six wins from 2019 to 2022.
Le, the current champion at 155-pounds, has also yet to lose in the promotion. Not only that, but all five of his wins in ONE have come via finish.
Le defended his belt for the first time in March, scoring a 56-second stoppage against Garry Tonon.
The main card is also scheduled to include the continuation of the promotion’s 135-pound grand prix. In a semi-final fight, Superlek Kiatmoo9 and Walter Goncalves will meet on the main card. And in an alternate bout for the bracket, Panpayaka Jitmuangnon and Sherzod Kabutov will meet.
