David Onama will remain on this weekend’s UFC card.
Onama is expected to face short-notice opponent Garrett Armfield at the promotion’s July 9th event, per an announcement made earlier this week. The matchup will take place at the UFC APEX in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA.
Onama was originally scheduled to face Austin Lingo, however, plans changed after Lingo withdrew from the bout earlier this week.
Armfield will be making his UFC debut in the fight. He currently holds a pro record of eight wins and two losses since debuting in 2018.
Armfield is currently on a three-fight winning streak, including a 33-second victory that he earned just two months back.
Onama is coming off his first UFC win. That victory came in February when he earned a first-round finish against Gabriel Benitez.
Lightweights Rafael Fiziev and Rafael dos Anjos are set to headline this weekend’s UFC card. Here’s an updated look at the show:
