Roosevelt Roberts To Face Matt Frevola on UFC’s September 12th Card

The “Steamrolla” Matt Frevola will be back in the cage for the first time in under a year when he faces Roosevelt Roberts on UFC’s September 12th show. News of the lightweight matchup was first announced on Frevola’s Instagram page.

A matchup between Frevola and Roberts was previously scheduled for an April card, although COVID-19 forced the bout to be cancelled. Troubles continued for Frevola, who lost a June matchup with Frank Camacho after one of his cornermen tested positive for COVID-19.

Frevola will look to get his third-straight UFC win, as he picked up wins over Jalin Turner and Luis Pena in 2019. Frevola had an unfortunate few months where COVID-19 took him out of action in 2020.

Roberts will attempt to bounce back from a loss, as his last bout he got caught early with an armbar from veteran fighter Jim Miller. A month before the loss, Roberts got a win over Brok Weaver, winning in the second round with a rear naked choke.
