A high-level featherweight bout between Hakeem Dawodu and Shane Burgos has been added to UFC’s January 23rd pay-per-view card. The fight was first reported by MMA Empire on Tuesday.
UFC 257 currently does not have a location reported, although UFC President Dana White says he is planning to hold it on “Fight Island” in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.
Dawodu has been on the rise in the featherweight division in recent years. The Canadian fighter moved his win streak to five-in-a-row in September, winning a split decision over Zubaira Tukhugov.
Burgos had his three-fight win streak momentum stopped in June, where he dropped a decision to Josh Emmett. The matchup won “Fight of the Night” for the evening. He holds a record of six wins and two losses in the UFC currently.
