Kevin Holland has signed off on a five-round bout against Marvin Vettori in the main event of UFC’s April 10th “Fight Night” card, as first reported by Ariel Helwani of ESPN.
Holland takes the place of Darren Till, who was forced out of the bout earlier in the week due to injury.
The new main event will headline a card from the UFC APEX in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA.
Holland is getting a quick turnaround, as he lost his first UFC main event fight to Derek Brunson last month. The fight snapped a five-fight win streak that Holland put together in 2020.
Holland pulled somewhat of an April Fools prank on his fans amid the announcement on Thursday. Hours after posting that “[it] Sounds like Vettori doesn’t want to fight,” Holland took to Twitter to tell his followers “April Fools b*****, see you April 10th.”
Now with a new opponent, Vettori will get the chance to earn his fourth consecutive win at middleweight. His last victory was in December, where he defeated Jack Hermansson via unanimous decision.
With a new main event in place, UFC’s April 10th card is back up to 15 fights in total. Here is how the lineup looks now.
