Both fighting to break losing streaks, Punahele Soriano and Dalcha Lungiambula are expected to meet at UFC’s July 16th show. News of this matchup was reported by Mike Heck of MMA Fighting on Wednesday.
The middleweight fight is joining a card that doesn’t have a confirmed location at the moment.
The booking could be a must-win for either fighter, as they both face potentially slipping into a three-fight losing streak in the appearance.
Soriano’s last fight was in February when he suffered a split decision loss against undefeated prospect Nick Maximov. Before then, he was defeated by Brendan Allen in 2021.
Lungiambula was on the receiving end of a quick submission in March, getting stopped by Cody Brundage. The previous loss in his run was a decision defeat against Marc-Andre Barriualt.
UFC’s July 16th show doesn’t have a main event currently. The sole other fight reported for the card by Knockdown News thus far is a flyweight bout between Askar Askarov and Alex Perez.
