Making the move up to flyweight, Jessica Andrade will face top-ranked UFC flyweight Katlyn Chookagian on the promotion’s October 17th card. News of the matchup was first reported by Nolan King and John Morgan of MMA Junkie.
Andrade, a former UFC Strawweight Champion, has lost her last two bouts. Her last fight was in July, dropping a split decision to Rose Namajunas. The matchup was given the “Fight of the Night” award for UFC 251.
Andrade’s prior fight was where she lost her belt, dropping it to now-strawweight champion Weili Zhang.
Andrade is currently ranked second in the UFC strawweight division.
Chookagian had a UFC Flyweight Championship shot earlier in the year, losing to Valentina Shevchenko on a February card. She has since bounced back, defeating Antonina Shevchenko via decision last May.
